Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026 | Effective date: November 4, 2026
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the website remember you between pages and visits. Apps and websites can also save information in your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way. This policy covers both.
It applies to our website (www.gulanistores.com) and to our web apps, such as the web point of sale and the management system. The Android and Windows apps do not use browser cookies; how they handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies That Are Needed
These make the website and web apps work. They cannot be turned off without breaking the site.
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in and remembers what you were doing as you move between pages, for example while filling in a form. | 2 hours |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms against requests sent from other websites. | 2 hours |
| gs_country | Remembers the country you picked on the pricing page, so prices are shown in your currency. | 1 year |
Analytics Cookies
We use Matomo to count visits and see which pages are useful. Our Matomo runs on our own server, so this information is not shared with Google or any advertising company. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies.
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _pk_id | Recognises a returning visitor with a random number. It does not identify you by name. | 13 months |
| _pk_ses | Groups the pages you look at in one visit. | 30 minutes |
| _pk_ref | Remembers which website sent you to us. | 6 months |
Local Storage in the Web Apps
The web point of sale keeps a little information in your browser's local storage: your sign-in, your name and email, the store you last opened, the stores you opened recently and how you like lists shown. It is not used for tracking. Clearing your browser data, or signing out, removes your sign-in.
Controlling Cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies that are needed, you will not be able to sign in or send forms. Blocking the analytics cookies does not affect how the website works.
Changes to This Policy
If we start using a new kind of cookie, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
